Process for Still Life Oil Painting

I am on the final stages of my still life oil painting. This has been an extremely fun experience for me to learn oil painting, and I hope to improve my skills and maybe use oil painting as my main medium in the future. Today my goal was to finalize colors, specifically the gold.

At this point, my painting was almost finished but the gold was looking a bit dull

It was difficult for me to match the exact gold color, especially because of how it changed due to reflections and light. I focused mainly on getting the highlights in the right places to try to get realism.

I hope to practice difficult materials like metal in the future when painting, but I am happy overall with how my still life turned out!
